PRODUCT NOTES
Our NEWMAN model is the "G-1" military flight jacket, it remains a current uniform-issue item in naval aviation for officer and enlisted aviation personnel on flying status in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard. Known famously as the “Top Gun” jacket that was worn by Tom Cruise in the movie.
We have improved the sharp cut on shoulder and slim-fit on the arms, the length is also cropped so the overall shape is modernised while keeping the originality of the jacket such as the gussets and pleated back on the back. The gussets and pleated back provide level of aesthetics, but the functionality is what made these details at the very first place; the recoiling bi-swing back in the leather and lining provide you complete lateral movement while the double gussets under each arm gives you greater vertical reach.
Who says you have to sacrifice style for comfort? You’ll notice the gracefully curved throat latch when you roll up the collar of the NEWMAN G-1, it is the perfect solution when you are facing stormy weather and looking for extra warmth. There is a carefully sewn pencil pocket under the left pocket flap and a snap shut interior pocket for your charts and gear. We give you the option of having a removable fur collar to give you more variables to accommodate with your outfit.
